Offered here is a lovely, manual gearbox 456 GT indicating just 12,000km from new. Delivered new in Modena, only 18km from the factory, we are informed that this well preserved example had just one owner for 23 years before being exported to the UK. Our vendor discovered the car in one of our previous listings and recognised it as having belonged to one of his associates, and knowing it had come from a good home, registered to bid and won the car.

456s are becoming increasingly more collectable and rarely do we see a manual gearbox 456 ‘on the market’ especially with low use and such fine provenance. This example is accompanied by a history file with Italian paperwork, maintenance invoices, UK-registration documents, its Ferrari book-pack including the original service book, spare keys, a bespoke Schedoni 456 luggage set with locks and dust bags and a fitted car cover.

Benefiting from two decades in a warm, dry climate and dry-stored correctly since import to the UK, the condition of this GT is described as excellent. It’s presented in classic Ferrari colours with gleaming Rosso Corsa paintwork and virtually untouched Nero leather. The Ferrari will be offered with a full belt-service undertaken by a well-regarded Ferrari specialist and a fresh MOT (July 2020), so will be fully up-to-date and ready to enjoy.

The 456 was the final Ferrari to offer classic ‘pop-up’ headlamps and overall the Pininfarina-styled coachwork seems to become more attractive as time moves on, subtle and stylish yet still with that timeless Ferrari sense of purpose. The 456 GT is a connoisseurs Ferrari, a gentleman’s express especially with three pedals, and when the time comes to re-offer this European example, a global left-hand drive market awaits.
