In 1993 Porsche introduced what is regarded by many as the most beautiful 911 of all: the Type 993. Over the years the 911 had received numerous aerodynamic and safety-inspired add-ons, diluting the purity of the original form; the Type 993's arrival marked a return to basic principles, being recognisably a 911 but one in which all functions had been harmoniously integrated in a truly outstanding example of modern automotive styling. The range offered remained pretty much as before, comprising conventional two-wheel (Carrera 2) and four-wheel drive (Carrera 4) models, the legendary Turbo and the Cabriolet convertible, all powered by the latest, 3.6-litre version of Porsche's perennial flat-six engine. The Carrera, Carrera S, Cabriolet and Targa models (2WD) were available with a Tiptronic four-speed automatic transmission.

The car presented here is a 1994 Porsche 911 (993) Cabriolet Tiptronic in attractive Iris Blue Metallic paintwork with a Marble Grey interior. Delivered new on the 12th August 1994 through Porsche AFN of London, the car has had just three previous keepers; the current one (our vendor) from 2012, has spent his professional life as a Porsche Centre Principal - so he knows a good Porsche! Prior to his purchase, it was completely checked over by senior Porsche 'Gold Standard' technicians, who both gave it an excellent mechanical rating, plus the official Porsche repairers who confirmed it had never had any major bodywork repair. With a complete service history, regular maintenance, and fastidious ownership, quite rightly the car won a Porsche Club GB Concours event (with circa 80 cars in attendance) in 2015. It was also on display in a Porsche Centre to showcase past models.
