DESCRIPTION
At the Paris Salon in October of 1994, Ferrari introduced the final version of the fabulous Testarossa series - designated the F512M. The letter “M” stood for modificata, with the vehicle featuring a modified design, a modified engine/transmission and various other internal and external modifications that truly made this rendition the “beast” of the Testarossa series. Although the original Testarossa displayed ground-breaking styling, design and performance, Ferrari did not rest on their laurels. There was constant improvement and enhancement of the Testarossa and it eventually evolved into the 512TR of 1991 and finally the F512M of 1995. With each evolution the styling, interior and performance were improved in a car that was consistently capable of top speeds in excess of 180 MPH and 0 to 60 MPH times of less than 5 seconds. Only 501 F512Ms were manufactured worldwide, making them very collectable and a sound long-term investment opportunity. This stunning left-hand drive F512 M was sold new to Japan and featured prominently in two private collections until it was discovered by the current owner earlier this year. The service booklet shows 3 service stamps in Japan and a letter from Tony Willis of Maranello Concessionaires Archive confirms that the car was sold new in March 1995 in Japan. The current owner imported the vehicle on 15th July 2013 and sent it immediately to Ferrari marque specialists QV London for a major service. Pictures in the history file show the engine completely removed and all belts and tensioners were replaced. At the same time, all oils and fluids were changed, a compression test carried out, the air conditioning re-gassed, new drive shaft gator fitted and brake fluids changed. A bill of nearly £4,000 can be found in the history file for this work. Finished in its original colour combination of Rosso Corsa 300 with Nero hide, this final edition of the Testarossa bloodline is reading a mere 25,245 kilometres (15,687 miles) and is presented in simply stunning condition. The bodywork is unmarked and the engine bay is in superb order. The car starts with a bark from its sports exhaust, reportedly £10,000 when new, and pulls smoothly through the rev range. The interior is free from imperfections or scratches and is befitting of a low mileage example. A UK HMRC letter confirms that all taxes and duties have been paid on this vehicle and it is ready for registration in any country. Offered on the open market for the first time in its life, it is very rare to find F512 M, let alone one in this condition. A full independent condition report is available from QV London and will be available at the auction for inspection by potential bidders.
