1996 Ferrari 456 GT

At the time of first production the Ferrari 456 was the fastest production four seater in the world. Powered by what was essentially a de-tuned but smoother version of the engine powering the 550 and 575, the new 5.5-litre V12 unleashed no less than 442 hp. Except for the F40, the 456 was the most powerful road car developed by Ferrari up to that time.

For the 456, Pininfarina worked its magic to create a subtly beautiful curvaceous body contrasting with the hard edges of its predecessor. Aerodynamically efficient, the 456 remained stable up to its maximum speed of around 190 mph. Acclaimed on its debut the 456's styling has not dated and is a tribute to Pininfarina's vision in creating one of most beautiful vehicle designs of modern times. Costing close to £200,000 when new it remains a rare and special car today.

Finished in Le Mans blue over Crème Hide this original UK supplied right hand drive manual car was first delivered to the Sultan of Brunei's brother in Malaysia during 1996.

It remained in his collection largely unused until the car was sold and shipped to the UK in 1999. At the time of writing the car currently shows 21,406 km, which converts to 13,300 miles. Although unconfirmed the car certainly looks as though it has covered minimal miles. Since being imported in to the UK the car has meticulously been maintained having had no less then 3 Cambelt services and £15,000 worth of expenditure in the last 14 years.

Presented with a superb history file which includes every MOT since arriving in the UK and the original owners pack - including the service book. Although not fully stamped there are invoices in the history file that account for the missing service stamps as per factory recommendations except for the first 1,000 mile service .

The 456 is a truly underrated model from the Ferrari Marque. An understated car with a potent V12 inside that when combined with the spacious interior makes the 456 GT a Grand Tourer in the true sense. Now becoming both recognised and collectable.
