1996 Ferrari 330 Noble P4 Replica

1967 was a banner year for Ferrari as it introduced the mid-engined 330 P4, a renowned V12 endurance car meant to replace the previous year's P3.

Only four Ferrari P4-engined cars were ever made: one P3/4 and three 330 P4's. Their 3-valve cylinder head was modelled after Italian Grand Prix-winning Formula One cars. To this was added the same fuel injection system from the P3 for an output of up to 450bhp.

Due to the great fame, sleek appearance and absolute rarity of the original design, most of us can only aspire simply to enjoy a hand-crafted and bespoke built P4 replica, similar to the exceptional car offered here.

Chassis #086 is a Noble Sportscars P4 Replica - Noble being amongst the most respected craftsmen for P4 replicas and this example, from an esteemed private owner, is perhaps the best available today. First registered in June 1996, this is the last P4 supplied by Noble. It epitomises the culmination of skill, admiration and expertise that went in to building each of these cars and it has been used only sparingly, showing just 19,000 miles recorded. Fewer than 1000 miles have been driven since the current vendors acquisition in 2008.

This impressive motor car is propelled by a 1991 Ford Cosworth Turbocharged RS 500 1996cc 4-cylinder powerplant, built and supplied by renowned expert Terry Drury of Terry Drury Motorsport.

During his ownership the vendor enlisted the skills of another renowned expert, Hepworth International of West Yorkshire, to undertake many modifications and upgrades to increase the usability, drivability, appearance and longevity of this car. All suspension and brakes were removed to allow the suspension to be blasted, repainted and replaced on the car. The driver's footwell was lowered slightly to improve the driving position, a push-button start replaced the existing ignition switch to add theatre to the starting procedure, and gas struts were added to the rear body section of the car to prevent damage whilst accessing the engine bay.
