1998 TVR Chimaera 4.5 2dr Convertible

The Chimaera is the most numerous and usable of the V8 TVRs, and as such offers the most sensible entry point into the world of glorious roar and burble engine noises, neck- snapping acceleration and grins from ear to ear. Peter Wheeler owned TVR at the time and he wanted to civilise the somewhat "hard edged' Griffith, so the damper rates were softened and the chassis was clothed in a more subtle and spacious body-shell that also offered excellent boot space for a 2 door convertible. The result is a car that really is an excellent all-rounder, capable of shaming many so called high performance cars emanating from both Italy and Germany.

This particular 4.5 Chimaera is finished in "Mystic metallic blue' with a contrasting Magnolia full hide interior, matching blue carpets and blue roof. There is a full complement of Leven Technology aluminium cockpit componentry which compliments the whole interior superbly.

First Registered in 1998, it has covered a mere 46,000 miles in 14 years. There is also a very full TVR Service History, by TVR main dealerships and a respected independent - with the last service carried out in January 2012. The car has a matching set of 'Griffith' split rim alloys with four almost new Hanook tyres with generous tread all round. This Chimaera has been maintained regardless of expense by each of its owners. Offered with power assisted steering and a 'Mota Lita' steering wheel, it really is a very easy car to drive.This Chimaera is in totally exceptional condition inside and outside and more importantly underneath.
