1999 Bentley Azure

The Bentley Azure was introduced in 1995 and was based on the platform of the Continental R coupé which had been launched in 1991. The Azure often surprised with its size and bulk, intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for the comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre V8, featuring a single intercooled turbocharger producing in the region of 380bhp. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced, four-speed automatic unit with the Azure capable of 0 to 60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was assembled and finished by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. From 1999, the Azure was also available in 'Mulliner Trim' which added special bespoke details and additional equipment, thus allowing the buyer the option for further customisation during the build process. Pricing varied as equipment could be significantly different from one to the next depending on personal preferences, however, the price list started at just over £200,000.

This stunning Bentley Azure was originally registered on 16th September 1999 to a gentleman from Cyprus, as a present for his daughter. Sadly, he passed away shortly afterwards and the car was used sparingly for many years. It was then decided by the family that the Azure required professional maintenance, due to the exceptionally low mileage of only 215 miles. The car was entrusted to a Bentley main agent in Belgium, where a thorough mechanical recommissioning took place in 2009.

Now reading just 217 miles, which we believe to be accurate based on its impeccable condition, this Bentley is finished in Sunrise Orange, with a cream leather interior and matching hood, and the car presents beautifully. The paintwork is very hard to fault and the panels gaps are all arrow straight. The interior is as close to new as one could possibly imagine. The cream leather and stitching is in perfect condition and is commensurate with a car that has travelled such low distances. The carpets are all original and look unused and the hood is in stunning condition and works faultlessly.

With just one registered keeper from new and showing delivery mileage, this Bentley Azure must be seen to be appreciated. Inspections are encouraged and we welcome any pre-sale viewings. The car will be serviced prior to the auction and all fluids will be changed. Supplied with a current MoT and a decent history file, this Bentley Azure is simply unrepeatable and we feel collectors would be hard pushed to find another example in such pristine condition.
