DESCRIPTION

Firmly placed in Ferrari's history as one of their finest big GTs, the 550 Maranello's combination of its stylish Pininfarina lines and front mounted 12-cylinder engine meant this car had the potential to become an instant classic, following in the footsteps of its forebear, the 365 GTB/4 "Daytona'. With modern styling cues, a 5.5 litre V12 engine producing around 485bhp and a reported top speed of 199mph, the 550 Maranello was a serious motor car. A less frenetic power delivery, the six speed manual box and excellent weight distribution were all factors in the 550 becoming the perfect European Grand Tourer.

Offered here is a left-hand drive 550 Maranello supplied new to its first owner, a Mr Sergio Candido of Rome, by Sport Auto Roma Car Centre on 4th January 1999. Larger Ferraris always look better in darker colours and this car is finished in Pozzi Blue with a lovely Crema interior, and sits on its original 5-spoke alloy wheels. The car is tidy and appears to have been really well looked after. The service book shows 3 stamps, with the cambelts last being changed in 2008, however in June of this year a basic service has been carried out. Accompanying the car is its toolkit, handbooks and drivers manuals.

When it arrives in the UK, this car will have been NOVA'd and any import taxes paid, so any prospective buyer will need to MoT the car and register it with the DVLA to obtain a UK V5c and registration. Upon purchase, we would also recommend that the car is taken to a marque specialist for fresh cambelts.

With the odometer now showing only 69,520km, or just over 43,000 miles, this 550 Maranello offers the opportunity to purchase a well cared for, useable example in a rising market.
