2000 Porsche 911 GT3 Gen I

The Porsche 911 (996) GT3 is the spiritual successor to the original '73 Carrera RS, and was designed to be lightweight and performance focussed with scant regard to luxury and comfort items that would add to the car's weight but detract from its performance.

It's also the basis of the modern day 'Carrera Cup Car' which Porsche race worldwide in their own "one make' series, and was produced in sufficient numbers to comply with the FIA homologation requirements necessary for the 911 to compete in the GT3 Class in International Sportscar Racing.

Silverstone Auctions are big fans of the Porsche GT3 and this left-hand drive Generation I example is no exception. The car was supplied new by Porsche Germany in 2000. It went to Sweden in 2007 and has covered only 80,000 kilometres or 50,000 miles in this time. The bodywork is presented in grey with (removable) Orange graphics and a black leather interior. The vendor states that the car has never been raced and drives beautifully. In addition, this example has been recently serviced and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
