2001 AC Cobra MkIV CRS

The AC Cobra can rightly be regarded as one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. With production figures of only circa 1000 between 1962 - 67 the legend was born. It was unlikely the Cobra story would have ended there with such an iconic status and Brian Angliss, the Autokraft owner kept production alive until 1996 acquiring the AC name and much of the original tooling. In December 1996 ownership was passed to Pride Automotive who continued production at Weybridge, Surrey under the name of AC Car Group Ltd. At the London Motor Show in 1999 AC's star was the Cobra CRS (Carbon Road Series), a faithful evocation of the original but with carbon bodywork and a 5.litre V8 built by many of the original AC craftsmen. Only thirty seven were produced. Offered here is #25 of the series in absolutely beautiful condition with only 9600 miles covered. Finished in the great combination of Metallic blue with blue leather it comes complete with hood and full weather gear. The service notes show that it has had an engine oil change every thousand miles. At the time of the auction it will come with a full MOT and on the registration number MUS 33D. The history file contains MOT's to substantiate the mileage and it has had only two owners from 2006. These factory produced AC Cobra CRS's are often regarded as the ultimate driving Cobra with a totally authentic look produced by incorporating many of the factory jigs. At this guide it represents incredible value for the closest you will ever get to the real thing and with a factory chassis number.
