2001 Audi RS4 Avant Quattro

The Audi RS4 Quattro is the top tier and highest performing version of the Audi A4 range and a well-respected performance car amongst enthusiasts. It boasts wider front and rear wheel arches than the standard manufactured variant to allow for the wider axle track on the RS4. The engine was developed from the 2.7 litre 90° V6 'biturbo' used in the standard car and displaces 2,671 cubic centimetres with five valves per cylinder.

With a kerb weight of just 1,620 kilograms, the RS4's powerful engine gave it the performance of a sports car to rival, and even better the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Sixty miles per hour could be reached from rest in a claimed 4.9 seconds with 100mph indicated in 11.3 seconds. Top speed was electronically limited to a little over 160mph.

An absolute rocket-ship of a car, this RS4 Avant with manual gearbox is finished in Avus Silver with Black leather Recaro seats front and rear, but regrettably there are no headrests. As if 385hp as standard was not enough, this RS4 has been re-mapped to Stage Two by Revo Technik, now producing 460 bhp. The cabin space is comfortable and fairly quiet, until you squeeze the accelerator and the exhausts bark in response. The car is equipped with the Audi Symphony sound system with Bose speakers and six-disc changer, air conditioning and centre armrest and despite the near 100,000miles travelled, the interior has worn incredibly well with no excessive wear, rips or tears.

The property of our vendor, who lives much of the year overseas, since June 2010, the car is only lightly used when he's back in the UK. This is illustrated by the recent MOT certificates which show a climb in mileage of fewer than 4,000 miles in five years.

This RS4 has had a new clutch and new battery within the last 500 miles and has also been shod with four new Avon ZZ3 R18 tyres and one spare in May 2011 which have been subjected to just 88 miles at the time of writing.
