SUMMARY

A superbly presented 360 with that evocative open gate.

DESCRIPTION

Just 16,690 miles from new with an overall condition to match. Last owner for 8 years Excellent service history and a complete book-pack, tool roll and key set Classically finished in Rosso Corsa, Crema and Tan. Optioned with Scuderia Wing Shields and a 'Challenge' rear grille. All-important manual gearbox with evocative open-gate At the Geneva Show in March 1999, as a replacement for their much-admired F355, Ferrari introduced the 360 Modena to critical acclaim and, not unsurprisingly, within weeks there was a two-year waiting list. The 355 was a tough act to follow, but the 360 was rather special: its all-aluminium construction (a first for Ferrari) was revolutionary, resulting in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity (40% lighter than the 355's steel platform but also nearly 30% cent stiffer), whilst also improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from Ferrari's F1 programme. All this combined with the flowing Pininfarina lines, computer-controlled suspension, greater power than its predecessor, and considerably greater torque - immediately made its predecessor, the excellent 355, feel outmoded. The Modena also saw a new word introduced into Ferrari reviews: reliability. The engineering had been more thoroughly thought through, and this was (and still is) reflected in lower servicing costs than for earlier mid-engined Prancing Horses. Higher levels of quality too, meant that the 360 became one of the first truly modern Ferraris that you could realistically use every day. That doesn't detract from the excitement factor, with strong performance, a searing engine note and a very capable chassis. Delivered new from Charles Hurst Ferrari in 2001, this rare manual gearbox car was ordered in the classic colour combination of Rosso Corsa with Crema leather, with contrasting Bordeaux stitching and Tan carpets. The factory specification includes Scuderia Wing Shields, a 'Challenge' rear grille, and Red callipers. It has been owned by our vendor for the last eight years and has only covered 16,690 miles from new. This lovely Ferrari has been enjoyed by four previous keepers and judging by its condition they must have all been equally fastidious. It's only being sold now as a move to a smaller house means that he no longer has enough space for all his cars. The car comes with a complete book pack and the original leather wallet with the service book having 5 Ferrari main dealer stamps and 5 from Migliore Cars, a well known and respected Ferrari specialist. The toolkit is all present and correct in its Tan leather case and even the tyre inflation kit is in the front luggage compartment. The car's condition is consummate with the mileage, retaining a deep shine and shows how carefully it has been stored and maintained. These rare manual gearbox 360s are becoming harder to find with such low mileage and in such lovely condition. Undoubtedly a future classic.
