2001 Ferrari 360 Spider

In 1999 Ferrari knew it was time to replace their much loved 355. The 360 was introduced to critical acclaim and immediately set a new benchmark for supercar styling and performance. The 360 Modena design was revolutionary by making extensive use of lightweight materials throughout. The 360's construction resulted in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity. Ferrari also paid particular attention to improving the under body aerodynamics and thus the 360 boasts a completely flat bottom with two prominent rear diffusers. The 360's engine produced a staggering 400bhp from just 3586cc, this resulted in a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. Pininfarina produced an exceptionally clean profile without need for additional wings, flares or blisters. One of the other striking features is a large glass rear screen that proudly displays the engine in all its glory. Introduced at the Geneva Show in March 1999 the 360 Modena not unsurprisingly swelled Ferraris order books and within weeks there was a two year backlog of orders.

The car we have here is finished in Argento Nürburgring Metallic Silver with contrasting Blu Scuro leather interior, blue carpets and a blue hood, this particular 360 Spider also benefits from the more desirable manual gearbox. Delivered new on the 14th September 2001 by the then Birmingham Ferrari Dealer, Evans Halshaw, the impressive specification included electric Daytona seats, silver brake calipers, xenon headlights, CD changer, stereo radio with cassette, electric windows, remote alarm with central locking, auto skid reduction with adjustable suspension, climate control and PAS.

We are informed by the vendor that the car was regularly serviced between September 2002 through to April 2012 when the cambelts were replaced. This 360 spider has only had three recorded keepers from new and has been meticulously maintained throughout its entire life, just compare the price difference between this and the latest 458, surely this makes the car a depreciation proof bargain.

This is a lovely low mileage car with a great specification including that rare manual gearbox that looks and drives like new and every outing is such a great sense of occasion.
