2004 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG 'F1'

The Mercedes-Benz 'R230' first appeared in 2001 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but it was in 2003 that the seriously powerful and stunning looking SL55 AMG version was introduced. Massively fast and very distinctive looking, the 5.4-litre engine produced 476 BHP and a tree stump pulling 520lbs feet of torque!

The SL 55 AMG was further enhanced by an 'F1' Performance Package offering a host of impressive upgrades from standard specification. Closely derived from the official FIA Safety Car for 2002, the "F1' pack included: a vented front splitter, larger 19" wheels, larger brakes, uprated engine cooling system, improved chassis, new transmission with the shift button behind the wheel and, of course. more power! When new, these uprated SL55s had a list price of over £110,000.

This monstrous SL55 was ordered with the 'F1' performance package and was supplied new to the UK. It boasts a huge specification that includes: active body control, AMG sports suspension, command navigation, TV Tuner, roof lining in Alcantara, pulse seats -heated and vented, Parktronic front and rear, phone system, Keyless Go, tyre pressure monitor, Electric folding mirrors, Bi-Xenon headlamps, fire extinguisher and Berry Red exclusive leather Interior.

Finished in Obsidian Black Metallic, the bodywork presents very well indeed and the overall condition of the car is very impressive and suggests it has been cherished from new. The massive 19" wheels are shod with Bridgestone Potenza tyres all round and it has the all-important list of recalls, completed by Mercedes-Benz, including upgrades to the SBC braking system.

There is a large service history with a mixture of main dealer and specialist stamps in the service book. The mileage of 41,500 miles is substantiated by the impressive service history and a service has just been carried out in January 2017.
