The Porsche '996' was the factory's internal designation for the Porsche 911 model, manufactured with the first model year in 1999 and the last in 2005. The 996 had little in common with its predecessor with the first new chassis platform since the original 911.

At its debut the 996 featured the most significant change from the classic 911 series , a water cooled engine replacing the previous air cooled engine . Stringent emissions/noise regulations , a higher expectation for refinement and a high performance 4 valve per cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other major changes include a completely new platform having a sleeker body with a more raked windshield and redesigned interior. In response to customer demand the Carrera 4S was introduced in 2003 which came with many options including a wider body with turbo style wheels, lowered suspension and sports exhaust, coupled with the 3.6ltr engine which developed 320bhp @6800rpm and 273lb/ft torque. Aided by the inclusion of 'Variocam plus' which improved power delivery through the range , giving it a 0-60 time of 5 seconds and a top speed of 174mph.

This stunning 996 Carrera 4S was new in 2005 and is a RHD UK supplied car presented in Artic silver with dark blue interior . It has a 6 speed manual gearbox and was one of the last produced. With only 24,260 miles recorded by the 3 owners to date with full service history, all receipts and Mot's have been kept in a comprehensive service file with drivers manual, spare keys etc. This particular Carrera 4S can only be described as being in immaculate condition.
