Ford Motor Company first introduced the legendary 'Mustang' in 1965 and since then have gone on to develop five generations of the car, the latest of these arrived in 2005 and is still built today. The most powerful and evocative version is the Shelby GT 500, introduced in 2008, which gave 500BHP in standard form, from its 5.4 litre supercharged all aluminium V8.

This car is a factory produced Ford Mustang FR500 C GT4 race car, that was designed for European racing in the FIA GT series running to GT4 specification. This class allows for fewer modification than the GT3 class with the aim of cheaper build and running costs. Once imported to the UK, the car was developed and refined to run very competitively within the Britcar series which specialises in long distance GT events. These upgrades included fitting a Drenth sequential gearbox, carbon body panels, a Mountune engine upgrade with Motec management/datalogging, Moton dampers, bespoke differential and gearbox coolers, long range 90 litre tank with quick fill, uprated brakes and a more effective aerodynamic package.

The car has been very successful within the series, driven by both Touring Car legend Mike Jordan and current owner Stuart Scott.
