DESCRIPTION
Earlier this year, the publishers of Fast Bike magazine teamed up with Suzuki Motorcycles GB to offer a truly unique prize. In acknowledgment of the ten year anniversary of the GSX-R 1000 motorcycles, an exclusive One of One Anniversary motorcycle was created by Fast Bike and was offered as a prize to the readers of Fast Bike. That motorcycle was named "Ten', and that motorcycle is the very special offering available to purchase today.
The history of the GSX-R motorcycle dates back to 1985 with the Suzuki GSX-R750F, and they've been setting the standard for sports bikes ever since. Within the production of the range which "Ten' celebrates, only 1,000 units will be manufactured for worldwide distribution, of which only 25 are destined for the UK, and despite their £11,000 price tag, all are now sold. The production motorcycles all feature a bespoke white and gold colour scheme with special GSX-R anniversary logos, numbered top yoke plaque, Yoshimura 25th anniversary exhaust cans with engraved end plates, laser etched wheel rim graphics and a certificate of authenticity.
Announcing the launch of the production anniversary GSX-Rs, Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman, commented, "As our anniversary celebrations get into top-gear during the summer months, it's great to launch our final anniversary tribute model. With the GSX-R1000 the ultimate bike in the range for many enthusiasts, and this version sporting a unique colour, not to mention bespoke logos too, this really is one for the collectors." If George suspects the 1000 production motorcycles to be serious collector pieces, how anticipated is "Ten' likely to be...? With the vendor beating odds of 22,178 to 1 to win the motorcycle in the first place, we'd hazard that this machine will be hotly contested this summer.
Unlike the production units, "Ten' is unique. This motorcycle sports a bespoke Altamura Concepts custom paintjob with exclusive livery bespoke to Fast Bikes. It is also extensively modified to incorporate every imaginable extra and the result is not only a very heady road and track bike, but a specification sheet as long as your arm!... So exacting are the standards, Gold Leaf was used for the anniversary logo by Altamura. It is estimated that even if you were able to secure one of the 1000 production machines, and then customise it to this extent (which your forbidden from doing) that the build cost would be in excess of £17,000. Offered on a new 2011 registration, this bike has never seen the road. It currently registers only 25 miles on the odometer, and these were collected on a dyno at Suzuki HQ to set-up the power commander modules and Yoshimura exhaust. At this time, the 999cc bike was reportedly producing 185.6bhp at the back wheel...
Fast Bike have surpassed themselves with their dedication toward weight-saving and performance enhancement; even the exhaust hanger has been changed for a lightweight R&G unit! They're not without justification however, the Dynojet Quickshfter, for example, enables you to change gear without using the clutch lever and without backing the throttle off. The result? Its lightning fast. You only use the clutch to initially pull-away then you can just flick the gear lever up at speed to give you the edge on trackdays. Similarly, the Promach-Rearsets give extra clearance for trackdays and even the top yoke is a unique billet aluminium Promach top yoke. "Ten' is fitted with Suzuki's Drive Mode Selector, which allows the rider to adjust the ECU to reduce the available power for bad weather conditions in mode-1, normal road use in mode-2 or full power for track use in mode-3, and it features the ultimate "Suzuki Slipper Clutch" so no more locking up the real wheel on down shifting. The Yoshimura R-77 complete exhaust saves a lot weight and a Race Air Filter allows the engine to breathe better. To counter the vicious speed, the complete braking system has been upgraded with performance Alpha Tecknik discs & pads & brake hoses for ultimate confidence in stopping. We warn you though, when you do stop, be prepared for the admiring glances and questions you'll receive from envious bikers!
As well as the following specification of extensive upgrades adorning "Ten', this Lot also includes all the original unused parts that were removed to create this very special limited edition machine. On their own, these parts would have a value in excess of £4,000....•Altamura Concepts Fast Bikes "Ten' paintjob•Yoshimura R-77 System•Yoshimura Oil Cap•Yoshimura Top Yoke Nut•Yoshimura Bar Ends•Yoshimura Engine Plug Set•Yoshimura Axle Blocks•Yoshimura Tail Tidy•Yoshimura Stand Bobbins•Yoshimura Crash Posts•Yoshimura Case Savers•Promach Rearsets•Promach Top Yoke•Dynojet Power Commander V•Dynojet Second Module•Dynojet Quickshifter•Alpha Tecknik F Discs (pair)•Alpha Technik F Pads•Alpha Technik R Disc•Alpha Technik R Pads•Alpha Technik Brake Line Kit•MWR Race Air Filter•Pazzo Levers•Powerbronze Double Bubble Screen•Powerbronze Carbon Heel Plates•R&G Racing Exhaust Hanger•Headlight Protector
