2012 Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Aston Martin was the dominant force in World Sportscar Racing in the late Fifties, winning Le Mans in 1959 with the factory DBR 1 driven by Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby. They went on to win the World Sportscar Championship in the same year, becoming only the second manufacturer to beat Ferrari at the time. This inspiration led the factory to return to World Sportscars Racing during the last decade, under the guiding eye of Aston Martin owner and Chairman, David Richards, through his world renowned Prodrive Racing Team in Banbury. Built in 2012 by Aston Martin Racing it was delivered to the successful and highly regarded Italian race team Villois Racing. They ran the car in the European GT Open Championship with great success with six wins and eight pole positions. It was mainly driven by professional drivers which is reflected in its overall exceptional condition and little usage. This Vantage GT3 can be run in several specifications, 2012 Homologated specification, 2013/14 specification or SGT specification. In its current set up its is basically a SGT Vantage GT3 but in lightweight, low drag and unrestricted with over 650bhp. The car is eligible to run in this years Le Mans supporting event the Aston Martin Festival race and would very much be a contender for outright winner. Should it be required to run in FIA specification it would require a few minor changes and upgrades mainly windsreeen, ballast box, GT3 rear wing and FIA inlet restrictors. Full FIA specification would require catalytic convertors. The bodywork remains in unpainted in carbon and is in fantastic condition commensurate with its little use (11 sprint races). The engine is due its service refresh in 500kms and has the Aston Martin ugpgraded ECU and data logging to the latest specification and coding. It also has the latest endurance brakes with new wide body lightweight Brembo Endurance calipers with new wide annulus discs and pads. It has the lastest hi castor front geometry and latest revised bump steer rear geometry.The transaxle has approximately 500kms of life before its inspection.
