Stirling Moss Leather Race Bag

The actual handmade Italian leather number seven race bag carried to Le Mans in 2011 by Stirling Moss. It was at this event that Stirling decided to retire. Whilst holidaying with Stirling in 1995, the vendor invited Stirling and his wife, Susie for dinner. Joe's Stone Crabs was Stirling's favourite restaurant in the world. When suggested, Stirling replied 'You'll never get a table in under 2 weeks.' The vendor replied 'I bet you $10, we'll get a table in under 45 minutes'. The photo was taken by Susie and the actual $10 bill is attached, Stirling having written on it,  'I always pay my debts.' He also signed the photo with the vendor saying 'you win'. 'My Greatest Race.' Juan Manuel Fangio Maserati 1957 German Grand Prix

A superb image created by artist, Alan Stammers of Fangio winning the 1957 German Grand Prix at the wheel of the legendary Maserati 250F. On this day it was Fangio's greatest race and his finest result and also his last Grand Prix drive. Fangio was five-time Formula 1 World Champion. The print was hand-signed by Fangio at the Dorchester Hotel, London, shortly before his passing in 1991. Framed and glazed, this print measures 95cm x 76cm and is also signed and dated '90' by the artist and numbered 260/750. A photo of Fangio signing prints at the hotel is supplied with the lot.
