LIVE AUCTION: This lot was auctioned on Friday 21st February, 2014 at 11.00am GMT at Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG

DESCRIPTION

A very rate 1997 Rolex Comex Submariner. Comex was the shortened title for the company, 'COMPAGNIE MARITIME D'EXPERTISE' formed in 1961 by its President Henri Delauze in Marseille France. Comex formed a strategic partnership with Rolex in the early 1970s to explore diving watch technology, a relationship that continues to the present day. Comex watches are rare and hugely collectable.

This Rolex 16610 has a stainless steel case measuring 40mm and is in very good condition with a ratchet rotating bezel. The case back is the usual screw type but engraved Rolex Comex and its 4 digit number. The original dial is black with luminous hour markers and white writing with the added Comex mark above submariner. The bracelet is an oyster type and in fantastic condition. This watch is presented in superb condition, clearly having being well looked after throughout its life. The watch is complete with box and recent service paperwork from Rolex, excellent confirmation of its provenance. This is a collector's dream and a fantastic future investment, being one of the world's most famous and desirable watches.
