SUMMARY

One of just 80 celebratory timepieces

DESCRIPTION

The 80th birthday of 'Mr Motor Racing' was celebrated on 19th September 2009 and the location, quite appropriately, was the Goodwood Revival where Sir Stirling was driving.

To mark such a milestone Sir Stirling partnered with Peter Ratcliffe to create the appropriately limited to just 80 in total timepieces you see offered here: The Moss 80 Chronograph.

It uses the legendary Swiss Valjoux ETA 7750 automatic movement with a quick-change calendar and water resistant to 5 atm. Strictly limited to just 80 pieces produced in total, all with the elegant white face, which was uniquely signed by the great man himself, and protected by un-marked Italian sapphire face glass.

The rear of the case, which is still protected by the maker's protective plastic, is engraved with Sir Stirling's name, birth date and this watch's unique number within the series: 63/80.

Bought new by the vendor, still boxed and unworn since, number 63 comes complete with its three original tan, brown and black Austrian leather straps, the strap change tool, tan leather slip case, hand book and display box. This superb presentation box was also signed and numbered by Sir Stirling.

Also included is a signed copy of one of Sir Stirling's favourite portraits, from 1961 - numbered 696 of 750 prints produced, together with a picture of him signing each print.
