DESCRIPTION
An original Herbert Johnson of Bond Street, Racing helmet and visor as owned and used by the late Ken Richardson. Circa early 1950s, size 6 7/8", fibreglass shell with leather and canvas lining and leather chin straps, with cork lining to the inner shell. Similar to helmets worn by Sir Stirling Moss and Mike Hawthorn in period.
Ken Richardson, B 21/8/1911-- 27/6/1997, started as an engineer for British Racing Motors before becoming the main development driver for the BRM V16 project in the early 1950s. He was entered by the team to drive a BRM 15 equipped with the V16 engine in the 1951 Italian Grand Prix, and qualified the car in 10th but was not allowed to start the race when it emerged that he did not possess the correct racing licence due to his lack of experience.
He also drove with Paddy Hopkirk in the 1956 RAC rally, finished second in class in the 1957 Coupe Des Alpes in a TR3, and finished in third position in the 1957 Tulip rally in a Standard 10.
The helmet is in excellent overall condition, with the lovely patina of use and is complimented by two pairs of racing goggles and offered in its original Herbert Johnson storage box.

Any cars not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our EM Rogers storage facility in
Northampton for a fee of £150 plus VAT. Storage will be charged at £10 plus VAT per day from Monday 2nd August onwards.
Motorcycles
Our motorcycle transport partners, Moving Motorcycles, can assist with collection and delivery.

Any motorcycles not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our transport partners facility in Northamptonshire for a
fee of £110 plus VAT, including 3 days storage. Storage will be charged at £5 plus VAT per day thereafter.
Automobilia
Automobilia can be collected from The Wing over the weekend or Monday morning between 9am
and midday by prior appointment. After this time it can be collected from our offices in
Warwickshire or shipped to you at your expense.
