Evanta Half Scale DBR1 1:1

A half-scale model of the delectable Aston Martin DBR1.

The Evanta Motor Company in Hertfordshire are renowned for their brilliantly engineered recreations of iconic sports cars from the past, as well as building a range of bespoke special models. Having recently spent thousand of hours replicating a full size DBR1 for a particularly fastidious customer, the decision was taken that it might be fun to produce a, drawing-office accurate, half scale replica of this famous competition Aston as a tribute to the companies success at Le Mans in 1959. The approval of Aston Martin was sought and granted and Evanta went ahead.

Here we are offering chassis number 'EVANTA-DBR1-003' of a limited edition of appropriately, 59 examples built. This is a static model of the victorious car used by Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby at the 24-hour race. The bodyshell is fibre-glass with removable bonnet and rear panel, plastic windscreen, chromed spoked fixed wheels with spinners fitted with pneumatic tyres, The cockpit has two canvas seats, a dashboard bearing maker's plaque with a dummy instrument panel and wooden laminated steering wheel. It's finished in the correct shade of Aston Martin Californian Sage Green and bears number '5' race roundel with drivers' details to each side.

Measuring approximately 203 cm long, 83cm wide and 53cm high, offered together with mock 'V5 registration document' and 'test certificate', and sold together with a purpose built wooden packing case that has been cleverly decorated to replicate an industrial crate used in the fifties, which then folds down to double as a display base.
