SUMMARY

Delightfully presented Two-Seat Tourer based on AC's six-cylinder, Royal Saloon.

DESCRIPTION

  • Selwyn Edge bought the company outright for £135,000 in 1927 and re-registered it as AC (Acedes) Ltd. The company was caught by the crash of 1929 and went into voluntary liquidation and consequently very few Acedes-badged models exist today
  • Powered by John Weller’s famous overhead-camshaft, six-cylinder offering 15.7bhp and 75mph in period
  • The features quarter-elliptic springing front and rear, a 3-speed gearbox in unit with the rear axle and worm final drive
  • Brake system is rod-operated with fitted front brakes as an option. It has rear chassis and wing steps which provide the access to the ‘dicky’ seat to the rear
  • Wind down side windows, ‘pull over’ hood with easy peg fixings on windscreen top rail (the hood could do with some attention)
  • Re-wired with armour cable incorporating a master battery isolation switch, and its rear mounted fuel tank with gauge, connects to a fuel line filter which in turn connects to a scuttle mounted Autovac
  • Accompanied by its original ‘Hints for Owners’ handbook in well-used condition and buff log book.
  • Family owned from 1961-2021 and has since formed part of a significant private Collection of British Motor Cars
