SUMMARY
1929 wider-bodied AE 'Chummy' Tourer from long-term ownership, recently returned to the road. Offered at No Reserve.
DESCRIPTION
- Nicknamed the 'Chummy' because the narrow cabin width meant that you had no choice but to become great chums with your travelling companion
- This was helped (slightly) by the introduction of the wider-bodied AE in 1929
- This charming example has been subject to an older restoration, believed to have been carried out in the 1970s
- Purchased by its current owner in 2004, it has been dry stored for the last five years before being returned to the road with fresh plugs, fresh fluids and a tank clean
- Finished in its original yellow with black wheel arches, black soft top and side screens and 19" wheels from a later model
- Powered by its 747cc side-valve four-cylinder engine producing 10.5bhp with a top speed of 50mph
- Supplied with a small amount of history from previous owners
- Anyone considering owning an Austin Seven will almost certainly know what they are looking for and we welcome and encourage you to view this cheerful example offered at No Reserve

Remarks
The exterior bodywork is in a condition I personally very much like. The cars had an older restoration (60's/70's at a guess) so is showing signs of age with a few paint imperfections and age related marks but for me that adds alot of character to these cars which is part of the special charm that comes from these pre war machines

Remarks
Inside the car is all quite nice, the seats are re trimmed with minimal use to the rears. The inside again shows signs of age but is in very nice condition for the car. The hood and weather gear are both present. The hood has a previous small repair on the rear as can be seen. The weather gear is in nice condition.

Remarks
The engine of this car is really sweet, it powers the car along well and will start well both hot and cold. The odometer shows 2k miles that I highly doubt to be correct.

Remarks
The correct type gearbox is fitted to this car. The clutch is a very nice pedal to use and the box is very smooth for an Austin 7 box.

Remarks
The running gear of the car is all in good order. I have full confidence in driving this car even on motorways, it does feel very comfortable sat at OK speeds. It's one of the few cars that has never let me down on any trip and will always pop into life even if I haven't started it in weeks.

Remarks
Not really a massive amount to say about the electrics on one of these! The horn sounds brilliant, lights work and thd car charges.... That's about it for a 7
Vehicle History
Remarks
The car has a small yet nice history file with the details of the previous owners and how long they have owned it for. Most the previous owners have been long term owners. I purchased the car from Wales where it's had been dry stored by an enthusiast for many years.
