SUMMARY
All correct numbers early example Series A Comet.
DESCRIPTION
- The Philip Irving-designed HRD 500cc Meteor utilised a lightweight single-cylinder OHV engine and was introduced in 1935
- The Series A Meteor was capable of 90mph which, in 1936, was quite remarkable
- Whilst most motorcycle manufacturers pre-WWII were building rigid-framed bikes, Vincent were developing pioneering, rear-sprung examples
- The Stevenage factory built the Meteor model up until the company phased out the HRD brand in 1950
- This relatively early bike was dispached from the factory in 1939
- An older restoration with correct numbers verified by the VOC and still retains its original oil pump
- Same owner since 2008, dry stored in a private Collection since then so will require some recommissioning before use
- Engine turns over with good compression
- Large history file including old 1942 RF60 'buff' logbook, old MOTs, old V5s, old receipts, manuals and other associated paperwork
- UK-registered on a current V5C
