DESCRIPTION
- One of the most famous racing motorcycles of all time and named after the Manx Grand Prix
- Launched initially in 1939 as an 'over the counter' race bike in either 350cc or 500cc spec and in production until the end of 1962
- Developed continuously throughout its lifetime with the additions of double overhead-camshaft engines and 'featherbed' frames
- This example was built on 27/08/1947, purchased from Raymond Way Motors in Kilburn and has had four known keepers since
- First owner was Mr JH Blythe, a privateer racer who raced the bike at the Isle of Man TT in 1948 and 1949 with a best finish of 16th in the 1949 Senior TT
- Several enthusiastic owner since then and the bike was paraded regularly during the 1960s and 1970s
- Road-registered in 1981 and still retains its original engine, rebuilt in 2012
- Forming part of a private Collection more recently so may require some recommissioning before use
- Large history file included containing various related paperwork including Norton Dating Certificate
- UK-registered on a current V5C
