SUMMARY

One of the rarest cars of its era, believed to be the only one in the UK, owned since 1989 and a fixture of West London society until our vendor's retirement in 2016.

DESCRIPTION

  • One of 2,500 examples produced in 1952 and believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK
  • One of the last 'straight-eight' cars and incredibly well appointed for its era with power roof, windows, steering and front seats
  • Subject to restoration works in the United States in 1979, retaining many original features
  • The son of a UK distributor for Chevrolet and Oldsmobile, our vendor fell in love with these cars as a child growing up in post-war London
  • As a successful West London restaurateur, he was able to source 'Betsy' from Illinois and she was UK-registered on 01/03/1989
  • Often used for film premieres, publicity events and chauffeuring celebrities of the day until retirement to West Wales in 2016
  • Over the years 'Betsy' has been re-painted and had a new roof with recent attention to electrics and mechanicals. A special old girl with a story to tell!
