  • Originally sold to Rab Cook in Scotland, who named the bike "Der Kink" after a newspaper cartoon, who featured the bike in the Motor Cycling magazine in 1954, copy included
  • Owned by Vincent enthusiast, John Kinley, from 1962 to 2018 when it was bought by our vendor
  • Was used by John as a daily rider and family transport and was raced by him with a sidecar
  • Fitted with a front disc (supplied by Vincent Spares Company), touring bars and Craven panniers
  • Original brake drums and handle bars included
  • Known history going back to its first owner

  • A known bike to the Vincent Owners Club who quote "The Upper Frame Member RC11159B and engine F10AB/1B/9259 with cc# E82E were both part of a 1952 Vincent Series C Black Shadow supplied to a dealer called Humphreys of London.

The factory records shows the bike was a special order for a Mr R.A.B. Cook, who was the editor of the VOC monthly magazine MPH at the time. It was he that christened the bike ‘Der Klink’ which  means The King. The special order shows it had 21” front wheel, 20” rear wheel with a 48 tooth rear sprocket, a 150mph speedometer and racing brake plates fitted on the front wheel.

The third owner of the machine was the late John Kinley, who raced it in the 1970’s and continued to own it, until his death in 2020".

  • Rear frame number appears to have been repaired/modified and is not easily readable
  • UK-registered on a V5C
  • Great example of this iconic machine
