Fabulous little MV 1950s 125cc racer with TT provenance and, more recently, showground success.

DESCRIPTION

  • Part of the late Alan Elderton Collection
  • The MV Agusta 125cc production racer built from 1953 to 1956
  • Fitted with a four-stroke 125cc OHC single-cylinder engine with a Dell'Orto carburettor
  • Originally fitted with an aluminium dustbin fairing until they were banned due to safety concerns
  • This particular example was bought from the factory and raced by Norman Webb at the Isle of Man TT, finishing 8th in 1953
  • Other successes include 1st at Brands Hatch 1953, 1st at Blandford 1954 and 1st at the Sunbeam Sprint in 1954
  • Purchased by Alan in 1985 as a project from Norman and restored to its current condition
  • Very well-known bike and displayed at numerous events over the years, winning many awards and featured in numerous magazines over the years
  • Paraded by Alan at the 2005 Isle of Man TT with CD of photos
  • Complete with some used spare parts (as pictured), history file containing MV Agusta factory letter to Norman Webb, factory instructions, various race results, magazine articles (copies included), newspaper articles and photos
  • Will require some recommissioning before use
  • Fabulous example of this classic MV Agusta and suited to any serious TT and MV Agusta collector

Motorcycles are available to collect after the auction until 6pm, and then from 10am until 2pm on Monday 31st July from: The Discovery Hub, The Shuttleworth Collection, Alder Drive, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9EP (please use the gate off Hill Lane).

Full payment must be received before any item is available to be released.
