SUMMARY

Elegant, post-war, four-door, 1.5-litre RME that's been part of the same family for over 50 years.

DESCRIPTION

  • Introduced in 1952, the RME was essentially an updated and improved version of the RMA and now featured a hydraulic braking system, revised body styling with a larger, curved rear window, full width bumpers and a revised rear axle ratio to improve acceleration
  • Over 50 years current ownership. Travelling from Leicester to Blackburn in 1972 just to view this RME, they fell in love driving it back, touring North Wales just two days later
  • After ten years on the road touring, the Riley was treated to a comprehensive restoration and has been used sparingly since covering less than 800 miles in the last ten years
  • Powered by a twin-cam 1,496cc four-cylinder engine which has been reconditioned, coupled with a 4-speed gearbox
  • Finished in Taxi Black over Bottle Green with a black fabric roof
  • The tan leather interior appears original, displaying a level of patination that would be difficult to replicate and all the better for it
  • Supplied with its original buff logbook, hand-written notes detailing work in current ownership, photos, invoices and tools
