Extremely rare and very collectable, this Earles Fork 1955 Super Sport 'Flying Saucer' is one of only 500 built.
DESCRIPTION
- Part of the late Alan Elderton Collection
- Introduced in 1952 and heralded the new, state of the art, design CS four-stroke lightweight machines
- The 175 CS Sport was a more tuned version and sported a very distinctive fuel tank design that resembled a flying saucer, hence the name 'disco volante'
- Fitted with a state-of-the-art race-developed Earles-type leading-link fork
- The Earles Fork version had an engine uprated to only 1bhp less than the legendary Squalo and also featured oiling modifications that allowed it to rev to 8,800rpm
- This example was restored during 2008/2009 by Alan then reassembled after his death by Mole Benn in 2010 to its current condition
- Displayed at various bike events over the years
- No paperwork included and may require some recommissioning before road use
