1956 Land Rover Series I 86"

Left the Military in June 1964 and was first registered in the UK on 12th June 1964.

Recent restoration included taking the body off the chassis replacing the rear cross member, all new outriggers and engine and gearbox supports.

HSK 540 was acquired by our private vendor on the 27th March 2014 and he has cherished the car ever since. This classic 86” was fully restored just before our vendor's ownership and has covered less than 1,000 miles since. The restoration included taking the body off the chassis, replacing the rear cross member, all new outriggers and engine and gearbox supports. The front wings were replaced etc. and it was treated to a full respray in the traditional Bronze Green.

Since the restoration, our vendor has carried out further improvements including; fitting new front and rear indicators and the switch, five new tyres ( 600x16), water temp and oil pressure gauge, spare-wheel bonnet fitting kit, new sliding windows and channels both sides, plus a new carburettor. Other new parts fitted include inner tubes with valve extensions, 'Exmoor' trim rear seats, both front springs, shackles + spring bushes, camshaft, rocker shafts, cam follower, rocker bushes etc. Finally, the owner reconditioned the heater, replaced the fuel sender unit, and has overhauled the steering.

Sitting on original Military Spec split-rims, which are quite rare now, this really is a great Series 1 in search of new adventures.
