SUMMARY

Believed to be one of only 12 right-hand drive cars destined for the UK, this recently restored 502 has a fascinating history.

DESCRIPTION

  • The 502 was a luxury saloon built by BMW from 1954 until 1958 and in terms of character and style, is often regarded as the ancestor of the current 7-Series
  • Registered in 1957, very few were manufactured for the right-hand drive market, with HSK 533 seemingly being one of just 12 cars produced in this format
  • Believed to have been purchased by Leslie H. Trainer, the founder of Trainer BMW of Swansea
  • Powered by a 3.2-litre V8, delivering up to 120bhp to the rear wheels through a column-shift 4-speed manual transmission
  • Restored to a remarkable standard in the 1970s by a BMW main dealer, subsequently going on to win the Munich Cup at the BMW International Concours d' Elegance in 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1986
  • Stored since 1991, the vehicle was sold by us in 2016 as a project, however once again it has been superbly restored (details in our Sellers Rating)
  • Supplied with a huge history file, with period invoices to the current day
  • Rarely seen today and with a fascinating history, this example would make an elegant addition to any classic car enthusiast’s garage
