- Over the years, the Red Hunter was the best-selling four-stroke single Ariel ever made
- Production ceased in 1959 when Ariel focused on two-stroke engines
- Emerging from long term dry storage, this was a forgotten restoration project
- With its current owner since 1983 and supplied with old style 'blue' V5
