SUMMARY

Good looking second generation Zephyr imported from South Africa and offered without Reserve.

DESCRIPTION

  • Ford's Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac models were heavily revamped and restyled for the 1956 model year, during which the engine capacity of the six-cylinder cars was increased to 2,553cc
  • They were available with the choice of 3-speed manual gearbox and the option of overdrive or BorgWarner automatic transmission
  • Dating from 1959, this Kenilworth Blue example was imported from South Africa in 2019
  • It's fitted with the 86bhp, 2.6-litre, straight-six coupled to a 3-speed, column-change gearbox
  • Supplied with a nice history file, some of which is from South Africa where it was believed to have been used as a wedding car
  • Having lived most of its life in a 'dry' country, the car appears remarkably sound and presents well apart from the chrome bumpers
  • Entered on a No Reserve basis, this classic 1950s Ford is sure to generate interest
