DESCRIPTION

The XK150 which appeared in May 1957 was the final incarnation of the XK. It was a more refined and capable machine than its predecessors. The 150 was easily identifiable by its higher scuttle and door line, wider grille and improved interior space. However the XK150 retained much of the mechanical layout of the XK140 sharing the same 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six, which developed 180bhp at 5750rpm.

Chassis S824647 was manufactured in 1958 and first registered on 5th February 1959. This car features the "Special Equipment' package which includes spot lights, wire wheels, and an uprated engine that is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. It is offered from 13 year ownership, during which time it was regularly maintained and serviced by Jaguar specialist, Mick Sales who has 35 years of experience with Jaguar and Daimler. The comprehensive history file confirms the attention which this car has received and contains old MoT certificates, tax discs, photos and invoices together with the original buff log book.

Pleasingly, this XK150 retains its original registration mark, "XDU 150' which is special in itself, and is resplendent in body and interior trim colours of black and red respectively. The car was upgraded to 'S' specification during the 1960s when a straight port head was fitted together with triple SU carburettors. These subtle engine modifications mean not only is this car one of the greatest of the post-war British sports cars but it's also exhilarating to drive. This motorcar represents a usable yet distinguished example of this rare SE specification Jaguar and will always be a certain hit amongst classic motoring enthusiasts.
