SUMMARY

Excellent 'Desert Sled' custom Triumph T100 benefiting from a recent recommission.

DESCRIPTION

  • Triumph T100 production resumed after WWII and the bikes now came equipped with telescopic front forks and an alloy cylinder head
  • Various models were produced until 1973 when dwindling sales from overseas competition saw the end of the line for the T100
  • The off-road popularity of these bikes created a complete scene with celebrities like Steve McQueen seen riding similar models
  • Owners customised their bikes by taking everything off that wasn't necessary and fitting off-road tyres
  • This example is a recreation of those On Any Sunday-style bikes
  • T100 frame and fitted with a T100SS engine, sump guard, off-road tyres, no lights or clocks and straight-through pipes
  • Benefitting from a recent recommission and now presented in running order
  • UK-registered with a current V5C
  • Complete with what is believed to be its original tank and recommission receipt
