SUMMARY
Very well prepared race Mk2 with a fabulous racing history in the hands of the late Les Ely.
DESCRIPTION
- Wonderfully restored by an enthusiast marque expert, this Mark 2 was extensively campaigned by the late Les Ely
- The engine is a Peter Landa/Sigma Engineering 300bhp 3.8 with an upgraded fuel pump
- Aluminium louvered bonnet, door casings and boot lid, laminated screen with Perspex rear and side windows, driver's porthole and more
- The Jaguar was raced previously as 6 VTW for years, until its final outing in 2010, however that registration number has now been transferred and so it is 596 XUX
- Used mainly for shows in the last few years, it wouldn't take much to bring it up to a level where Historic Papers could be applied for
- A car of this provenance might easily be expected to have sold for a figure much higher than today's guide so, sadly, the investment in time and money by our enthusiast vendor will certainly far outweigh his likely return
