1962 Austin Healey 3000 Mk IIA

This superb left hand drive "Big Healey' 3000 was despatched to California in September of 1962 and repatriated to the UK where it was fully restored by marque specialist Murray Scott Nelson and registered to them on the 1st of October 2002. It then entered the long term custodianship of its next owner on the 4th of October 2002. The car was owned by this person for the next 10 years. The restoration was of a most exacting 'rotisserie' standard and photos of this restoration are contained in the file. The car presents in excellent all around condition 10 years and 7000 miles later. The present condition is partly due to the quality of the restoration and partly due to the car residing in Spain for most of the last 10 years before entering a private Belgian collection. The car was driven from Belgium to the UK and this sale today and the car performed well with the overdrive feature on the gearbox providing relaxed high speed cruising on the 400 mile trip. The big Healey's are renowned for sounding magnificent and having inspected this car prior to sale we can confirm that this car is no exception with a rich fruity exhaust note making the car a pleasure to drive. The car is supplied with a fresh UK MoT certificate confirming its road worthiness. The previous headlamps for European motoring are also supplied with the car making MAS418 ready to enjoy for a new owner in the UK or on the European mainland. This 3000 MKIIA is a 'matching numbers' car restored and registered to Murray Scott Nelson to the same original specification virtually 50 years to the day it left the Abingdon factory. The all important Heritage Certificate confirming this is held within the file. The Colorado Red paintwork retains a deep shine and very few blemishes. The underside of the car is in magnificent structural condition and a testament to the quality of the restoration. The trim is in very fine condition and the weather gear is 'as new'. Chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition and complete a really beautiful car. A rare car superbly restored by a renowned marque expert and ready to enjoy.
