DESCRIPTION
Chassis No #861014 was first registered in 1962 and now comes to market as a freshly built, zero-hours FIA/HTP E-Type 3.8 FHC completed to the very highest of standards and, in the right hands, could prove to be very competitive. Available due to a change in direction by the current owner, the Jaguar has been assembled around a new Rod Jay (RJ Panels) shell with alloy bonnet, boot and doors with motivation provided by a brand new Crosthwaite & Gardiner 3.8 engine, utilising an all-alloy block with a wide-angle alloy head with dyno readings showing 380bhp, mated to a 4-speed gearbox and differential from Denis Welsh Motorsport. With final assembly being placed in the hands of renowned XK Engineering, as you would expect, the attention to detail is exceptional with the list of contributors reading like a ‘who’s who’ in Motorsport circles; Crosthwaite & Gardiner, Denis Welsh, Rod Jay, XK Engineering, Ben Clowes, and Custom Cages amongst others. Picking through the general specification and, in addition to the main components outlined above, there are uprated engine and gearbox mounts, stainless steel 60mm bespoke exhaust system, 15’’ Mag/Alloy wheels, upgraded shock absorbers, magnesium rear uprights, lightweight hubs, competition brakes, dual master cylinders, foam-filled 100-litre fuel tank, bespoke Bremax wiring loom, the list goes on. Offered with a guide price that is a fraction of the build cost, with freshly issued FIA/HTP papers valid until 2033 and current UK-V5C registration document, your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the potential on offer.
