SUMMARY
Attractive UK-supplied split-screen camper with a rare Canterbury Pitt conversion that has been sympathetically restored in the past.
DESCRIPTION
- UK-supplied, this Type 2 (T1c) was first registered in 1964, and has been enjoyed by just four previous keepers
- Finished in the lovely combination of Pearl White over Mouse Grey, the T1c benefits from a larger rear door and single side door
- One of the less well known companies carrying out Type 2 conversions was Canterbury Pitt, run by Peter Pitt, which offered a range of conversions and pop-up roofs
- Purchased as a partially completed project in 2009, it was finished to a high standard between 2009 and 2011
- Now powered by a replacement 1,600cc air-cooled flat-four Volkswagen engine coupled with a rebuilt 'Freeway Flyer' gearbox
- The van appears to have been slightly lowered and features light grey seat trim, cabin trim and a wooden storage unit with original hob along with VDO dials and a period-style realistic radio with Kenwood amplifier
- The history file is remarkable and includes handwritten notes, photographic evidence of the restoration, spreadsheets of work, previous invoices, MOT Certificates, tax discs and a service book with stamps dating back to the 1960s along with a copy of the original logbook
- We invite and encourage your viewing of this delightful 'splitty' in order to appreciate the quality and originality on offer
