DESCRIPTION
Introduced in 1955 and produced until 1969, the Fiat 600 was the marque's first rear-engine car, built along with the 600 two-door sedan and the innovative Multipla, which predated the minivan by some 30 years. While outwardly small and riding on a wheelbase just shy of 80 inches, the 600 provided remarkable passenger and luggage space thanks to its rear-mounted inline four-cylinder engine. The updated 600D debuted in the autumn of 1960 with an enlarged 767-cc engine, swivelling vent windows and additional louvers on the engine-compartment lid.
Much like the VW Beetle and Ford's Model T, Fiat's little 600 mobilised millions and contributed strongly to Italy's post-war reconstruction, with some 2.6 million examples rolling off Fiat's Mirafiori assembly line.
This charming little Fiat 600 is finished in Green with matching interior and engine bay! The odometer is reading only 10,566 Kilometres. The car has been registered in the UK and there are eleven months to run on the MoT. There is also a letter from Fiat Historic Archive to verify the chassis and its originality.
The 767cc petrol engine is original and starts quickly and is reported to be running and driving well. Supplied with optional working front fog lights along with all the classic Italian styling a collector could ever want.
