UK saloon racing in the 1960s was epitomised by the battles between the American V8s and the British Lotus Ford Cortinas and Austin Coopers of the day. They were driven, in the British Saloon Car Championship (pre-BTCC), by current Grand-Prix stars such as Jim Clark, Jack Brabham and Graham Hill, as well as saloon car specialists like Frank Gardener, Brian Muir, Sir Gawaine Bailie, Roy Pierpoint and Jack Sears. It was an exciting and evocative period of racing and the crowds enjoyed the closeness of the racing brought about by the contrasting abilities of the nimble Cortinas and Minis and the straight line speed of the V8s.

This is a carefully developed and very competitive 'Notchback' Mustang that’s been run and prepared by TTP performance in recent years. It was purchased from John Danby Racing two years ago by the current owner and has enjoyed regular outings in the Equipe Classic Racing Series since then, earning an impressive pole position Brands Indy 'Equipe Libre' in 2021.

Traditionally finished in Wimbledon White with a Guardsman Blue stripe, the V8 engine was built by MJA Engineering and has currently around 4 hours of running time. Accompanying the car is a spare rear axle plus a few springs and a spare wheel. This cracking Mustang is a potential gateway into some of the best historic motorsport available.
