The Cooper S's iconic appeal as a sportier version of the Mini was specifically underlined by its success at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967, as well as its appearance in the 1967 British film The Italian Job, in which Minis and Mini Coopers play a key role in a bank heist.

CSM 848C was first registered on 23rd April 1965 via Thomas Corrie Ltd, Dumfries in Tartan Red with 4.5 inch wheel rims, oil cooler and twin fuel tanks options. The current owner restored the car from 2004 to 2006 after the 3rd owner had kept it off the road for nearly 28 years. Crucially based on the original shell, complete with The DVLA Z5 to 2S mistake, the restoration was a complete nut and bolt overhaul. New steel panels were fitted and the original engine and gearbox completely rebuilt. The car is finished in the correct Tartan Red - Old English White bodywork with stunning Newton Commercial seat coverings. Overall, no expense was spared in rebuilding this Cooper S to original specification.
