1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The Chevrolet Corvette C2 was built between 1963-1967 as a contender in the 'muscle car' battle with Ford. Introducing a new name, "Sting Ray", the 1963 model was the first year a Corvette coupé was made and featured a distinctive tapering rear. The Sting Ray featured hidden headlamps, non-functional hood vents and independent rear suspension. Power output for 1963 was 360 bhp, which was raised to 375 bhp in 1964. On 1964 models the decorative hood vents were eliminated.

This 1966 Stingray has been under the same ownership for 23 years having been purchased in 1990 in the USA by our vendor. As an American working in England the car was kept in the USA for use as a weekend car on his occasional trips back home.

It wasn't until 1996 that the car was shipped to the UK and upon arrival a thorough rebuild was undertaken in 1997. This consisted of a mechanical rebuild of the suspension along with restoration of the chassis. Since then the car has been well maintained and cared for, and also benefits from a recent respray just last year. In more recent years the car has remained largely unused and as such the vendor is reluctantly offering this lovely American classic for sale.

Coming from long term caring ownership this Stingray is presented in great condition and is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.
