1966 FIA Ford Lotus Cortina

This right hand drive UK market Lotus Cortina was professionally converted to an FIA specification race car by TWJ Motorsport in the winter of 2008/2009 for a cost of over £41,000. It retains it's UK original green log book and thus could be road registered today if required, making it also ideal for Tours or Historic Rallies.

Coming with full FIA HTP papers this car is now ready to race in any of the many European series for which it is eligible, including U2TC and Masters. The large file of bills shows additional spend during the last 5 seasons totalling over £59,000 on refining the chassis and improving the engine and transmission to make it into a front running car on the European circuits, by it's well known and highly respected privateer owner/driver.

The fresh Roxwell Racing prepared 180bhp FIA engine has just been rebuilt around a new block, crankshaft, rods, pistons and valve gear. The gearbox has an alloy bellhousing, tail housing and remote assembly combined with an alloy diff with strengthened halfshafts. Both 4.7 and 4.4 limited slip differentials are included with the sale of the car, as well as 2 sets of light alloy and one set of steel wheels.

Featuring a bespoke Custom Cages roll cage, brand new Sparco Evo 2 Plus seat with Willans sixpoint harness, an electric Spa extinguisher system, a Gartrac fuel system and even an original style dashboard and instruments. Needless to say the rest of the specification has also been fully optimised and no compromises made on suspension, brakes or exhaust.
