DESCRIPTION

The Jaguar S-type saloon was introduced in 1963 and in the first year that Sir William Lyons announced the S-type, in 3.4 and 3.8 form, it actually out sold its smaller brother the Mk II. This was probably because the 'S' offered a more luxurious motoring experience with its Mk X interior and E-Type independent suspension. The 420 was developed in order to replace the S-type, however, demand remained high for the 'S' and the model remained in production until the introduction of the XJ6 in 1968. This particular example was first registered on 8th February 1966 in manual specification with overdrive. Finished in the correct Carmen Red with cream leather interior and the desirable wire wheel option, FVO 224D is in need of some paint work in order to bring it up to a high standard. The car comes with a very interesting history file, which includes a bill from world renowned Jaguar specialists JD Classics to the tune of £6,700 and this was carried out within the last 2000 miles. The history file also substantiates the car's mileage with MoT test certificates going back to 1975 along with an original buff log book detailing changes in ownership.
