1966 Ford Cortina Lotus Mk1

• A highly collectable and coveted high-performance classic sports saloon

This smart Lotus Cortina was purchased a couple of years ago by Wheeler Dealer Mike Brewer to, in his words "scratch an itch" but, with his international commitments and large collection, it's simply not being used enough. There is not a huge amount of history with the car apart from the fact that it was first registered on the18th February 1966 traditionally finished in Ermine White and Sherwood Green and was purchased in 1999 by a previous owner in a poor state and in need of restoration. We were asked to offer the vehicle for sale in 2016 and the vendor at the time explained that the restoration was undertaken with meticulous care and attention to detail over a period of eight years with no expense spared. After completion, the car was used sparingly for the following nine years and kept in a 'Carcoon' when not used on sunny days. As is common with full restorations, the odometer was zeroed from around 70,000 miles and displayed 5,436 when offered for sale in 2016.

The current indicated mileage is 5,924 and the Lotus continues to present really well. According to Mike "The car is 8/10, tidy and starts on the button". This classic Lotus Cortina needs to be used, is sensibly guided and is definitely one you should come and have a look at.
