DESCRIPTION
- Velocette offered a high-performance cylinder head for the Venom in 1965, and a bike so equipped won the 800-mile Thruxton road race – hence the name of the subsequent model
- Velocette claimed 41 bhp for the Thruxton with a top speed of 110 mph
- Close-ratio box, alloy rims, a big-valve head, polished ports and an Amal 5GP carburettor
- Twin leading-shoe front brake, speed-hump seat unit, clip-on handlebars
- This lovely example is part of a private collection and dry stored for many years
